SELF DRIVING CARS @SP MOTORS

Nowadays we might have heard about the self-driving cars but still, we don't know what aspects it is useful to us in future and what developments are going in the research area, so today I'm going to tell you all about an update in this research.

SELF DRIVING CAR @SP MOTORS

Scientists have developed a system that lets users of driverless cars take the moral decision of who should survive a potential car crash.
According to the previous research, most people think a driverless car should be utilitarian, taking actions to minimise overall harm, which might mean sacrificing its own passengers in certain situations to save lives of pedestrians.
However, while people agreed to this in principle they also said they would never get a car that was prepared to kill them.
"We wanted to explore what would happen if the control and the responsibility for a cars' actions were given back to the driver," said Guiseppe Contessa of the University of Bologna in Italy.

Researchers designed a dial that switches a car's setting along a spectrum ranging from 'full altruist' to 'full egoist', with the middle setting being 'impartial'. The ethical knob would work not only for self-driving cars but for all areas that are becoming increasingly autonomous, the 'New Scientist' reported.
"The knob tells an autonomous car the value that the driver gives to his or her life relative to the lives of others," Contessa said. The car would use this information to calculate the actions it will execute, taking into the account probability that the passengers or other parties might suffer harm as a consequence of its decision.

TESLA RAISE IN CREDIT LIMIT @SP MOTORS

Tesla said it had increased its borrowing capacity for car lease programme to $1.1 billion from $600 million. The move comes as the electric car maker spends heavily to fix production bottlenecks of its new Model 3 sedan. The company raised the borrowing capacity under certain warehouse agreements. Finally the concept of making 4 different models "S3XY" comes true even though after facing a problem with the naming model as 'E' by finding a creative idea of using number '3'.

These days, some cars can serve as WIFI hotspots, backup power generators or remote controls for your home. In future, they might also monitor your health. most new cars are already loaded with computer chips and have wireless communication links and they are gaining more abilities in those areas every year. New cars usually have fewer mechanical devices and more electronic components ten earlier models, a change that allows for advances simply by changing software. Here's a look at some other features that cars are offering.

  • WIFI HOTSPOT :
Several automakers offer in-car Wi-Fi and internet connections. For the manufacturers, they are easy add-ons because most modern cars need communication abilities for their navigation systems. General Motors, for example, offers a high-speed 4G link and many models come with a free three-month trial.

New features @SP MOTORS

  • POWER GENERATOR :
Fuel-cell cars are now on the sale in California. They generate electricity through a chemical process that turns hydrogen into water. In a pinch, they can be used as a backup power source. The Toyota Mirai, for example, has an AC outlet in its trunk that can be used to run appliances in a blackout. GM recently built a three-ton fuel call truck with power-generating capability for the Army.

New features @SP MOTORS

  • WATER DISPENSER :
Doug Martin and John Rollinger, two engineers working at Ford, devised a way to collect water droplets from air-conditioner's condensing coils. The water is run through a filter and stored in a reservoir into a spout mounted near the front console.

New features @SP MOTORS

  • HOME REMOTE :
When cars are connected to the internet, they can communicate with our homes while on the road. An app is now available with Tesla models to communicate with home wired for remote control. The driver can turn up the heat, turn lights on or off, and check in with the home security system.
In a similar vein, Ford is working with Amazon on integrating Alex, the online retailer's voice-activated assistant. That would also allow drivers to control a wired home from the car.

Ride by Wire is a technology which is most probably used in four wheelers nowadays in two-wheelers too.

Ride by wire @SP MOTORS

In a normal bike {with cable} we come to see that the accelerator and the throttle body are interconnected by means of the cable. when we twist the accelerator the cable connected to throttle body tends to pull the actuator of the throttle body to move upward, due to this too and fro motion the blade/valve inside the throttle body tends to open and close in order inflow of oxygen for the engine to burn the fuel.If you twist accelerator more the oxygen enters will be more thus more combustion takes place.

Ride by wire @SP MOTORS

In case of Ride by Wire, it acts when there is an absence of mechanical linkage between throttle and accelerator. The wire from the accelerator is connected to the sensors instead the throttle which detects the input of twisting of conventional wire send the signal electronically to the Engine control motor {ECM} which actuates the speed and the opening of the valve inside the throttle body again according to the speed the position sensors present opposite to the ECM detects the position of the valve and correct it according to the given input and speed.

This technology was mainly introduced when the traction control system was introduced lets see what is TRACTION CONTROL SYSTEM, on very high powerful motorcycle when the throttle is completely open the more torque is created mainly at rear wheel due to which we can lose the traction and the blade or valves start to spin over 1 inch then the signal is sent to computer which immediately closes the throttle according to the speed even when the conventional throttle{accelerator} is open too much as same this technology is used for various modes.
The similar technology used in four wheeler is called Throttle by wire technology.

Throttle blipping during changing of gear will cause some lag while in case of normal cable it doesn't.

Reliability of the normal common cable is more when compared to that of  Ride by Wire.

Actually the ride by wire has come from AVIATION, i.e when an aeroplane becomes more and more powerful, the manufacturer realised although pilot have well trained, their might be a situation where the pilot may give too much of input on the throttle which may cause some incident, In order to manage this problem they took back some functioning and placed over  a computer which senses the input and opens the throttle according to suitability of the speed, altitude, working of engine, pitch, nose, rolling etc
